STEUBENVILLE, OH / MIAMI, FL:  Matt Fradd, prominent Catholic author and partner of Chesterton & Co. Cigars has announced the release of the Pints With Aquinas exclusive in-store cigar produced by MBFUMA in Nicaragua. Fradd is the creator & host of the Pints With Aquinas podcast, a popular online Catholic community & show that features long-form discussion & debating over pints. In 2022, Fradd & his partners opened Chesterton & Co. Cigars on historic 4th Street in Steubenville, Ohio, a town best known for the Catholic Franciscan University. The Pints With Aquinas brand is the first in-store exclusive produced for Chesterton & Co. Cigars and will have its official release on March 14th, 2024 at Chesterton & Co. in Steubenville.
The first vitola release in the Pints With Aquinas brand is a 6” x 52 Toro, featuring an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper atop a medium to medium-plus profile blend of Nicaraguan binder from Estelí and Nicaraguan fillers. The Toro is offered in 20ct wooden boxes with a vista that pays homage to Saint Thomas Aquinas, the “Angelic Doctor” & Saintly philosopher who is the patron of Fradd’s podcast. Each Toro is dressed with a cigar ring that is an artistic expression of a Byzantine chasuble, where a priestly vestment aesthetic is given a noble look with black & gold foil.
The partnership between Chesterton & Co. Cigars & MBFUMA is one proudly established in both organizations shared Faith, which is the root & cause of the design & development of the Pints With Aquinas brand that began nearly half a year ago. ABOUT CHESTERTON & CO. & MATT FRADD: Matt Fradd is a Catholic author & podcaster. He is most well known for his Catholic podcast, Pints with Aquinas. He has written and contributed to numerous books including Does God Exist? A Socratic Dialogue on the Five Ways of Thomas Aquinas, Marian Consecration with Aquinas, and The Porn Myth. Matt Fradd along with the other owners longed for a cigar lounge in Steubenville. When the opportunity came to purchase the original legendary location of The Herald Square cigar shop in Steubenville, they pounced. They came up with an idea of having the shop become a place where "modern Chesterton, Lewis, and Tolkiens can come to smoke and enjoy a lively atmosphere." Thus, they named the shop, Chesterton & Co. Cigars. Completely gutting the building and custom making the humidor out of wooden frames and glass from a 1930s dance studio, they sought to bring back the original Steubenville identity to downtown. Matt Fradd and the rest of the ownership opened officially on October 7, 2022 with a live action G.K. Chesterton doing the ribbon cutting.
